The Wisdom of Dissent
Jakob Leschly
|
Dates: Friday12 February
Time: 7.30pm
Location: E-vam Melbourne
|
In his teachings the
Buddha never sought to confirm human fears or expectations. He spoke to the
wisdom that everyone possesses, and outlined a path to cut through assumptions
and beliefs, empowering us to take full possession of our wisdom inheritance.
Ever since, for 2500 years, men and women have been inspired to discard the
status quo, and embrace peace and greatness of mind through the Buddha’s way of
the three wisdoms – or prajna: hearing, critical
reflection, and meditating. |
Visualising Reality:
The Mantrayana Path of Sacred Outlook
Jakob Leschly |
Dates: 13 & 14 February
Time: Saturday & Sunday 10.30am
- 12.00pm & 2.30 – 4.00pm
Location: E-vam Melbourne
|
The entire Buddhist path is to take
a hard look at what is and what is not, putting an end to the
painful deception known as samsara. In
Tibetan Buddhism, establishing a realistic vision of awakening is basic to the
path. This two-day workshop will be an enquiry into the reasoning employed in
the Tibetan Nyingma tradition for viewing our being and our world more
accurately – as a mandala.
Combining reflection with the practice of mindfulness as well as the Mahayana spirit of compassionate courage, the workshop will offer context for
approaching a Mantrayana re-evaluation of our experience. |

engage in Vajrayana; and the two main aspects of tantric practice –
‘Development’ and ‘Completion’ stages of meditation. The course will also
include discussion of the practice of the Six Dharmas of Naropa, the nature of
the deity in tantra, and the use of mantra and mudra.
